a film short from remembrance
Written and produced by H. Buchanan (Detroit)
The Medal is a modern-day story from the Remembrance Saga that centers around an emotional day for a young jazz artist in Harlem.
Percy Fox III is a descendant of Percy Fox, a Harlem Hellfighter who fought alongside Remembrance's hero, Sgt. David Pierce. While Percy is a fictional character from the novel, the story of his being denied the Medal of Honor is based on fact. It took nearly 100 years for Sgt. Henry Johnson--the most decorated soldier of WWI--to finally be awarded his Medal of Honor in 2015, awarded by President Barack Obama.
